Laura Lowther

Owner, Principal & Lead Instructor

Laura owns Yacht Training and is our lead instructor. She grew up sailing on the Hauraki Gulf — her parents started Yachtshare when she was four — and has raced, cruised and coached ever since.

Represented New Zealand at two Laser Radial World Championships (2012 Youth Worlds, Australia, and 2013 Women’s Worlds, China)
Experienced in racing, cruising and coaching
Also runs Daily Boats, Auckland’s subscription boating service

My wife & I stayed on board 40 ft for the course duration in Westhaven. She was a non- sailer so the experience was a great intro for her. Pete’s quiet encouraging manor gave her the confidence to fully engage and learn as well as I did. Thanks Pete for the training and added knowledge to take our sailing to the next level and we fully intend to buy and retire to a live aboard 45ft yacht soon.
