Frequently asked questions
Do we both need experience?
No. Many couples start with one partner who has sailed before and one who has not. In a private course we tailor the training so you both progress.
Can we learn on our own boat?
Yes. Private tuition and Berth Master sessions can run on your own yacht or powerboat — the best way to learn your boat together.
How long until we can sail confidently together?
Most couples feel comfortable in sheltered waters after Intro to Sailing plus some practice. For longer coastal trips or chartering overseas, aim for International Crew and then Bareboat Skipper.
